Make_Waves

A wonderful excuse to own a boat

Make_Waves is a subsidiary company of Make_Studio and a totally justifiable reason to buy a boat. Utilising an overflowing stockroom of camera equipment, Make_Waves was to operate as a commercial boat rental pitched at photographers.

The graphic was based on the carvings you’d find on canoes and evoked a tribal quality with a contemporary execution. Neatly executed as a pattern, the angular strokes of the letter-forms created a striking texture - especially if foiled or embossed.

From the sketchbook:

An alternative execution was formed quite simply from the M and W of font 'New Modern'. Although simple in execution, the letter-forms had a beautiful contrast and reflected each other perfectly creating a wave like visual.

Made in Scotland

Bred in Wales, educated in Cornwall and working in England. Living among the cafés, coffee shops and clichés of Christchurch. Plumen light bulbs dangle in pendants above the dining room table, Bertoia diamond chairs are draped in fur throws and a rosewood Eames lounger is home to an owl shaped cushion with button eyes. I’ve operated under the guise of a designer since 2008, dabbling in the ink, pixels and vectors of brand and building between the parentheses of web development.
