ABB

Mind-bogglingly large power systems company

Space is big... really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is.” - Douglas Adams. ABB is big, really big... you get the idea. Operating in a very different world, ABB exists behind the veil of most consumer awareness.

Working with ABB's Swiss office to create a suite of promotional material from brochures, DL's, roller banners, adverts to icons, illustrations and motion graphics has been an interesting exercise in working with such tightly defined guidelines.

From the sketchbook:

An interesting part of the reality of working as a designer. With some businesses operating with services and technologies so far distanced from familiar or generally understood knowledge the work can involve an enormous amount of discussion, research and personal education simply to understand what a FOX615 Multiplexer is.

Made in Scotland

Bred in Wales, educated in Cornwall and working in England. Living among the cafés, coffee shops and clichés of Christchurch. Plumen light bulbs dangle in pendants above the dining room table, Bertoia diamond chairs are draped in fur throws and a rosewood Eames lounger is home to an owl shaped cushion with button eyes. I’ve operated under the guise of a designer since 2008, dabbling in the ink, pixels and vectors of brand and building between the parentheses of web development.
